Nowadays no one of the glassworks are still in existence, but the local lime-burning is very significant from the former activities. The light of the lime-burning furnaces which are similar to the shining balls in the dark woods are really a great experience for the visitors.
The Roman catholic church of the village built in late Baroque style was dedicated in 1901. The internal furniture was originally made by the monks belonging to the order of St. Paul in Sajólád for the former Palulite monastery in Diósgyőr.
It is worth to visit the Glass Museum opened in 1989, which is a curiosity of industrial history. |
